Third Month Meditation
The element of the third chakra is fire, sunlight; whereas our first two chakras, earth and water, are subject to gravity, and are drawn downward, fire sends its heat and flames upward. We often refer to people as warm or hot-blooded. Others are cold, emotionally or physically. Choose the “middle way” ideal for well-being, peace of mind and a harmonious life. Have compassion for yourself and your body undergoing definite changes and your moods which this month seem to swing to and fro, as the branches of a tree dancing in the wind.
Light candles at night; if it’s winter, cuddle in front of a fire place, and if it’s summer, build a fire at the beach, or place a Tikki torch in your back yard and meditate on the flame. This month, surround yourself with laughter, good company, good friends, and funny movies; go see a comedy show or a musical.
• Find a place where you will not be disturbed for the next thirty minutes, sit comfortably and close your eyes.
• Imagine you are totally relaxed from the tips of your toes all the way up to the crown in you head.
• Look for any place in your body that still feel tense and let it melt into the chair or sofa you are sitting on.
• Listen to your breath, with each inhale in comes the comforting glow and which each exhale all your tension melts away.
• Now imagine a golden white light surrounding you, take a deep breath in and as you exhale see your self floating in water. It is safe, you are here as a witness and no matter what you’ll find out you will remember it and you will be able to handle it.
• Now imagine that you are inside your mother’s womb and ask yourself, how do I feel? Find out what your thoughts and feelings are about your mother and the outside world. If you find yourself in a lot of fear tell the little one (your unborn self) that today you have come to help her come into this world with love and safety. Tell her that you like to accompany her in her birthing journey to discover what happened and to mend or rejoice with her. Tell her that you are here for her and that together you will witness your birth safely and lovingly.
• If you can’t remember your actual birth, go ahead and imagine the birth you wished you had.
• Imagine your mother taking you into her arms and welcoming you into this world. It is your right to be here and to have the experience you wish and deserve. Heal the past or rejoice at the actual wonderful birth you’ve had.
• Once you have gone through the details and have learned much of your birth, come back up slowly sight out loudly making the sound of creation AHHHHH.
• Now open your eyes.
It is a good idea to write down what happened. Forgive when you can, embrace it with gratitude if that’s the case. Rejoice in the fact that you do not have to inherit your past unless you choose to.
