Month 5
This is the month you pay attention to what you say and what you hear.
Your child 20 – 24 weeks
YOUR BABY NOW
Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately ten and a half inches long. The eyebrows and eyelids are fully developed, and fingernails cover the fingertips. A protective coating called vernix caseosa begins to form on the baby’s skin. By the end of this month, your baby will be about eleven inches long and will weigh almost a pound. You might have already experienced your baby move, or you may just be starting to feel it for the first time. Babies tend to be more active when the mother slows down and relaxes. When the mother is active, the movement of the pelvis rocks the baby to sleep. Your partner will get excited when he feels the baby move under his touch. If you have not started yet, talk to your baby every day and encourage your partner to do the same.
The right to speak and hear the truth
Successful communication can be achieved, if we appreciate that freedom and discipline are the pivotal elements for harmony. The remarkable power of the spoken word is affirmed. By speaking our truth respectfully to others and ourselves, we manifest a world leader.
