Sleep Consultation
Sleep education is more for the parent than the child, in fact I refer this service more as parents training than child training.
We never allow the child to cry themselves to sleep, our method is a no-cry training designed to teach parents how to gently communicate their needs and desires for a full night of sleep.
You can choose from a simple two hour consultation to the full program of 5 or 10 nights where I come in and actually help you implement the sleep plan we have worked out together.
Here are the details of the simple sleep consultation:
-
Preliminary Evaluation
A comprehensive questionnaire about your child’s sleep habits and routines. -
A Private, 3 hour evaluation at your home
I will meet your child and evaluate your bedtime ritual and his/her room. We’ll discuss child’s and parent’s sleep habit, philosophy and attitudes. Day time naps, food intake etc. -
A Customized Sleep Plan
After our consultation, I will write up your sleep plan. Your plan will specifically address bedtime and the routine, night waking and naptime, plus additional helpful suggestions about any particularly challenging areas. -
Two Weeks of Follow-Up Phone Calls
Our first call will be the morning after you institut your Sleep Plan. We’ll schedule the last three spaced out over the week so that you feel comfortable and can be successful. These calls usually last 15 minutes and I can answer any questions you have about your Sleep Plan and offer suggestions for any issues that may arise. -
Two Weeks of Unlimited Email Support. After your week of phone calls, I will give you my direct email address for one week of unlimited email support. I will respond to each email within 24 hours (M-F).
I’ll give you honest information about WHY sleep is so important for your child’s well-being. (This will give you all the motivation you need to make changes to your child’s sleep habits.)I’ll lay out an easy-to-follow, step-by-step plan that lets you make some choices about what is the right approach for your child. (All children are different, and nobody knows your child better than you do. I encourage you to use your knowledge of your child to customize his or her sleep plan.)I’ll show you how to measure success. (No, you shouldn’t expect your child to sleep 12 uninterrupted hours on the first night — although it does happen! I’ll tell you what you should expect along the way…)
If you feel more comfortable with me implementing the plan I can come to your house 5 to 10 nights and I guarantee success.
